Why do Photographer's Watermark their Images?

So, why "waste" time watermarking images?

This is my #1 topic with clients! Why do we watermark images on Facebook and other social media platforms? As a professional photographer, it not only protects my work, BUT ALSO protects my clients!

Now, how does putting a watermark on a photo protect my clients?

Simple! For example, if someone steals your businesses watermarked photo to create a new profile for a social media account your picture is flagged! I always save my copyright information to EVERY photo uploaded on social media so IF anyone steals those images, it reports them to me I can immediately flag them and pull them down! This protects my clients and it protects my company. These watermarked photos will also not print at Walmart or any other retailed photography printing lab so you never have to worry about someone stealing your child's or family member's photos and printing them without your permission.
